In Egypt –
I found the ATM in the lobby of the Steigenberger in Luxor – actually worked with my Debit Card! I think it was a newer one with a chip in it. Most ATMs in Egypt did not work with my bank debit card. They did work with my credit card. Similarly, the bank branch inside our 5-star hotel gave us cash advances on our credit card, but could not process our debit card.
