More interesting architecture by Gaudi, Barcelona’s favourite architect. His signature style is stamped all over this area. Originally intended to be a housing development for the upper class, it turns out to have been too far from downtown and too far uphill. There are actually lengthy outdoor escalators to get to the park entrance.

We weren’t crazy – we took the escalators to the park, rather than climb stairs in the 30-degree heat.  We had already climbed a substantial incline up the road to get to this spot.
