When we arrived back into Cairo on my birthday, there was a cake waiting for me, as Ahmed Hamed Yousif had promised. What a nice extra touch!

Our room. Interestingly, this was a smoking room – but really, we could not tell. There were ashtrays, but no smoke smell.

This is the breakfast dining room. The architecture and decor is amazing and very classic; the food is excellent; and the view of the pyamids is stunning.
